Experience

Dietmar Harhoff is a Professor of Business Economics at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich where he directs the Institute for Innovation Research, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship.

Dietmar Harhoff holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dortmund, a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and a Ph.D. from the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1991, he joined the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim and became the Associate Scientific Director of ZEW in 1995. In 1998 he joined LMU's School of Management in his current position.

Dietmar Harhoff specialises in the fields of innovation, industrial organisation, and intellectual property. He has served in an advisory and consulting function to many private and public organizations in Europe. Dietmar Harhoff is currently a Research Associate of CEPR, Research Professor at ZEW and WZB Berlin and an International Associate of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) in London.

Dietmar Harhoff is a native German speaker.
